Why did The Eminent Master Qing Ding Acknowledge H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as His Master?

Early Life and Ordination of Dharma Master Qing Ding

Dharma Master Qing Ding was originally named Zheng QuanShan. He was born in 1903 from a well-known large family that had the Buddhist faith for many generations. He started to read and chant Buddhist sutras at the age of 7 and received basic knowledge about Buddhism from his father.

In 1939, when Zheng Quan Shan was 36, he was the major-general director of the Advanced Party, Government, and Military Training Corp of China’s Nationalist Government. While working in Chongqing, he often spent his leisure time to go to Ciyun Temple nearby to listen to Dharma Master Cheng Yi’s expositions of Buddhist sutras and Buddha-dharma.

Under the introduction and guidance of Dharma Master Cheng Yi, Zheng Quanshan was ordained as a monk in 1941 at Ciyun Temple in Chongqing and received his dharma name “Qing Ding.” During the same year, Dharma Master Qing Ding received the complete set of monastic precepts at Zhaojue Temple in Chengdu.

Following Dharma Master Neng Hai and Attaining Lineage

After receiving the precepts, Dharma Master Qing Ding also became a disciple of  Dharma Master Neng Hai, who was a famous eminent monk in modern Chinese history. He learned the Yidam dharma of  Yamantaka Vajra from Dharma Master Neng Hai.

Dharma Master Neng Hai

After Dharma Master Neng Hai had entered nirvana, Dharma master Qing Ding succeeded Dharma Master Neng Hai’s lineage and became a dharma king and leader of the Gelug Sect of esoteric Buddhism. Dharma Master Qing Ding’s dharma power and virtue majestically astounded the world. He once manifested great supernormal powers at a demon-subduing dharma assembly and changed his own appearance into that of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

The Supreme Encounter

However, at the high age of 90, he paid homage to acknowledge a young tremendous holy virtuous person as his master. Who is this young tremendous holy virtuous person? Why did Dharma Master Qing Ding acknowledge Him as his master?

This young tremendous holy virtuous person is His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha IIIDharma Master Qing Ding observed from his state of realization that this young person is the genuine incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha the primordial Sambhogakaya of the dharma sphere. He seized this magnificent karmic condition that is difficult to encounter in millions of eons.

Acknowledging H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as His Master

Dharma Master Qing Ding acknowledged H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as his master and beseeched for Buddha-dharma.
Dharma Master Qing Ding acknowledged H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as his master and beseeched for Buddha-dharma.

A Dharma brother supported Dharma Master Qing Ding and said to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, “Master, Great Monk Qing Ding of zhaojue Temple came today to pay homage to become your disciple and beseech for Buddha-dharma.”

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III: “Okay, go ahead. You can just do four prostrations according to the four refuges. Monk Qing Ding, your are my disciple from now on. Since you are my disciple, you should act in accord with my conduct, and cultivate yourself earnestly according to my method. Sit on the seating cushion.”

(Sitting at the side was Yang Wen who worked at Chengdu No. 2 Hospital and came with Dharma Master Qing Ding. Helping Dharma Master Qing Ding from behind was the lead attendant of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.)

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III: “I will transmit my Buddha-dharma to Great Monk Qing Ding. I hope that you will definitely abide by the religious policies, continue your advancement, and be a good monk.”

Receiving the Inner-Tantric Initiation

Master Qing Ding acknowledged H.H. Dorje Chang buddha III as his master and beseeched for Buddha-dharma. He beseeched H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to confer make-up inner- tantric initiation of the Yidam dharma of Yamantaka Vajra.

It turned out that when Dharma Master Qing Ding beseeched and learned the Yidam dharma of Yamantaka Vajra from Dharma Master Neng Hai, he did not receive an inner- tantric initiation. This was because although Dharma Master Neng Hai had received an inner- tantric initiation himself, he did not have the ability to confer an inner- tantric initiation to his disciple, Dharma Master Qing Ding.

The Profound Importance of Inner-Tantric Initiation

Why is an inner- tantric initiation so important? The effect of an inner-tantric initiation is that the master transmitting the dharma invites the Yidam of the dharma to be transmitted to come to the site. The Yidam will then accept the disciple in person. Therefore, as long as the disciple engages in self- cultivation in accord with the dharma, liberation from birth and death is guaranteed with a one- hundred- percent certainty.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III conferred an inner- tantric initiation of the Yidam dharma of Yamantaka Vajra to Dharma Master Qing Ding. That made up what Dharma Master Qing Ding lacked and fulfilled the wish that he cherished for many years.

Faux Jade Plates by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

The faux jade plates that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu Holiest Tathagata created with a painting brush are unique and amazing treasures. They vividly reproduce the superlative beauty seen in the creation of the myriad things in nature. At the same time, they embody what is refined rather than coarse, amplifying the ephemeral and unostentatious beauty of precious natural things in life to the perfect zenith of art. Fei-Cui Jade, Yang-Zhi Jade, Shan-Hong Jade, Li-He Jade, Fu-Shou Jade, Tai-Hu Jade, Hai-Jiao Jade, Gang-Gu Jade, and other faux jade plates created by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III all look real and vivid in their textures, luster, colors, patterns, grains, and shapes.

What is most amazing is the depth to which the colors appear translucent on the faux jade plates. No matter how great the artist, we have never heard of anyone else who could cause colors to appear to permeate so deeply through the surface of solid material giving the impression of faux jade. Anyone can clearly see the depth to which those colors penetrated, giving those jade plates a remarkably elegant and delicate quality. These works of art look even more genuine and much more beautiful than real marble or jade. The beauty of real precious stones cannot hold a candle to these faux jade plates. All who have seen them marvel at them. Unfortunately, the pictures in this book cannot convey the true quality of these faux jade plates. It is suggested that you go to the museum where these works are displayed to see their beauty for yourself.

How Empowerment from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Transformed a Police Car Accident Into a Miracle of Protection

A Fateful Evening in Pleasanton

In the evening of May 31st, 2013, a police car struck a pedestrian in front of the Walmart store located in Pleasanton, California.

During the middle of May of that fateful year of 2013, my two daughters returned home from their perspective colleges from the East Coast for their summer vacation. On May 31st, after dinner, our family of four with spring in our step headed towards Walmart to buy watch battery. We left the Walmart store around 9 p.m. My two daughters and my husband, Yiao-Tee were walking three to four meters in front of me.

I was trailing behind also on the pedestrian walkway in front of Walmart. At that moment, a police vehicle pulled out of a parking spot. The policeman in that police car saw my two daughters walking pass in front of the police vehicle. The policeman focused his attention on my two daughters and lost track that he was operating a vehicle. At that time, the police did not notice me; when he finally acknowledged my existence, it was already too late to avoid hitting me.

The police vehicle struck me squarely and screams broke out from the surrounding crowd.

Blame and Shock at the Scene

When the police officer exited his patrol vehicle, he tried to put the blame on me. He accused me of walking directly in front of his patrol car and causing the accident. Yiao-Tee and both of my daughters immediately replied that I would never rush in front of the patrol car just to get hit. According to eyewitnesses, upon impact I was thrown about three feet into the air before landing on the ground.

A Miracle in the Emergency Room

An ambulance rushed to the scene and hurriedly delivered me to the emergency room. After a thorough physical examination, the doctor and all the nurses resoundingly said it was a miracle. There was no injury to my bones or soft tissues, and they could not even find minor scrapes on my body. The only sign of injury was that my left thigh was slightly swollen with redness. I was treated with acupuncture and laser the next day and went to work as usual. This incident did not impact on my daily routine at all.

A Subtle Experience of Protection

How Empowerment from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Transformed a Police Car Accident Into a Miracle of Protection

When I recall this event, I did not experience any sensation when I was struck. My mind was completely blank. But very subtly I felt someone was holding me then gently putting me on the ground. It was truly miraculous. One very noteworthy thing is that I always wear the Vajra Thread that my master gave me when I took Refuge.

Struggles With Responsibility and Insurance

Although physically I was absolutely fine, the subsequent development was more troubling. The police refused to accept fault for the accident and put the blame on the Walmart and the store’s failure to set up a pedestrian walkway. This was their attempt to push away the responsibility. The police refused to pay for the cost of ambulance and the medical costs which amounted to close to ten thousand dollars. Pursuing a legal recourse with the police is a long and tedious path. Fortunately, Walmart has a recording system that captured the entire event.

Reporting to My Master

I went to see my master and reported to my master this incident and how I was struck by a car yet suffered no injury at all.

Three months later, suddenly I received a call from the police’s insurance agent telling me that they will pay for all the expenses. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas’ for their protection and my master’s compassion and empowerment.

Renewed Devotion to Practice

Because of this karmic origination, we followed our master’s teaching with even more determined devotion. We listen to the Buddha Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and practice our cultivation diligently. Because of these efforts, every aspect of our life, from our career advancement, health and our children’s college application and acceptance processes has been smooth and free of obstacles. The Practice of Buddhist teaching has become a way of life for our family. We established our own Dharma Listening Center to reach and benefit more people in order for them to learn the Buddha dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as well.

Gratitude to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

The Pope of Buddhism H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

A heartfelt announcement from a humble cultivator: I will forever express my deepest gratitude to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for edifying the most supreme and unparalleled authentic Buddha Dharma. I also want to thank the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for watching over and protecting me. The law of cause and effect never errs. This car accident was the result of prior karmic causes, no doubt. But karma can be transformed when one has accumulated merits through learning True Buddha Dharma and diligent cultivation; thus, serious calamities can be minimized.

Lessons in Karma and Cause and Effect

This incident clearly demonstrated the principles of Buddha Dharma. Believe in the law of cause and effect, resolve in our cultivation, do good deeds and propagate the correct Buddha dharma, every bit of merit will bring you benefits, and you will definitely receive the Buddha’s blessing without hindrance.

Royal Academy Of Arts Has The First Fellow Awarded in Past More Than Two Hundred Years

The Explanation of the Buddha’s Title — “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

On April 3, 2008, a solemn and dignified first-publishing ceremony of a fact-recording book entitled H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, which published jointly by the World Buddhism Publishing LLC and the World Dharma Voice, Inc., was held at the Library of the Congress of the United States. The book was also formally accepted into the collection of the Library of the Congress of the United States. Only since that time, did people in the world know that Master Wan Ko Yee, who had been broadly respected by the great masses and who had also been known as Great Dharma King Yangwo Yeshe Norbu, had been recognized by the world’s leaders, regent dharma kings, and great rinpoches of Buddhism through official documents as the third incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha, who is the primordial Sambhogakaya Buddha of the universe. The Buddha’s name is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Since then, people began to address His Holiness the Buddha by “Namo[1] Dorje Chang Buddha III.” This is similar to the situation that Sakyamuni Buddha’s name was Prince Siddhartha Gotama before attaining Buddhahood. However, after Sakyamuni Buddha had attained Buddhahood, His title changed to “Namo Sakyamuni Buddha.” That is why we now address His Holiness the Buddha as “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.”

In particular, on December 12, 2012, the Senate Resolution №614 of the United States Congress officially used “His Holiness” in the name addressing Dorje Chang Buddha III (That is to say, “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.”) Since then, the title and status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has been definitive by nature. And, as a matter of fact, “Dorje Chang Buddha III” is a name used legally in governmental and official legislative documents. Therefore, the previously used respected name and titles such as “Wan Ko Yee,” Great Master, and Great Dharma King no longer exist.

However, the news below was published before the Buddha’s title of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was publicly announced. At that time, people did not know about the true status of His Holiness the Buddha. Therefore, to respect the true history, we still kept the names used before the title of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was legitimately determined in republishing this news. However, all must clearly know that the only legitimate name of His Holiness the Buddha is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and all other names used before the legitimate determination no longer exist.

Royal Academy Of Arts Has The First Fellow Awarded
in Past More Than Two Hundred Years

On Feb. 10th, 2004 at the office of British Council in Washington DC Royal Academy Of Arts awarded Fellowship to Master Wan Ko Yee (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) . Master Yee is a world-famous artist, a great Chinese painting artist, and the founder of Yun sculptures which are beyond natural beauty. The award of fellowship certificate and medal further confirmed Master’s extraordinary contribution to art of the whole world.

Royal Academy of Arts was founded by King George III in 1768. Up to now it has more than two hundred years history. It is a world-famous art institute. Many seasoned artists wish to pursue advanced study at this Academy. But this Academy admits only twenty extraordinary artists each year from all over the world to take courses for three years.

Professor Phillip King, President of Royal Academy Of Arts, announced during the award ceremony: Royal Academy Of Arts has a profound history. Today we are honored to award fellowship to the great artist and spiritual leader, Master Wan Ko Yee (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) . This is a very important and honorable event of our Academy in the past more than two hundred years since our establishment. Therefore, Master Wan Ko Yee is the extraordinary art figure that we have been searching in more than two hundred years since our establishment and could not find until today.

This is tremendous blessing of Royal Academy Of Arts. Our Academy has one hundred Royal Academicians, but there was no one who in the past more than two hundred years was awarded the above-mentioned Fellow. This noble position is awarded to only the most distinguished artist in the world.

Sir David Manning, Ambassador of United Kingdom to the United States, accompanied by Professor Phillip King and Professor Brendan Neiland, Keeper of Royal Academy Of Arts, met with Master Wan Ko Yee (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) and his wife Professor Yuhua Wang. Sir David Manning showed his respect for the achievement of Master Wan Ko Yee and congratulated him for receiving such an honor. Mr. Andy Mackay, Director of Culture Department, The British Embassy attended the award ceremony today.
