One night after midnight in early 1990, someone suddenly knocked on my door rapidly and yelled, “Sister Dai, save me!” We opened the door and saw our neighbor Xiao Bai (At that time, Sister Dai was the manager of the Hydroelectric Resource Supply Company of Xindu County.) Xiao Bai told Sister Dai in a very hurried manner, “Sister Dai! Chun-Yang Xia and his wife Ling-Kun Zeng are arguing and fighting. A knife is even being used! Sister Dai, go over there quickly! Go quickly!”

Sister Dai became very anxious upon hearing this, opened the door, and rushed downstairs. While she was running, she prayed for empowerment from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu and kept reciting the Six Syllable Great Brightness Mantra. At this time I (Ying-Fan Wang) also rushed downstairs. While I was running, I prayed for empowerment from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III together with Sister Dai so that this matter would not turn into something more serious and thereby become fixed karma.

When Sister Dai and I entered the residence of Chun-Yang Xia, we saw that a tragedy had already taken place. Ling-Kun Zeng was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Her face was pale and she was unconscious. Chun-Yang Xia was holding a weapon a watermelon knife one foot long. The tip of the knife was dripping with blood. Chun-Yang Xia was standing there trembling and in a crazed manner shouted, “Brother Wang! Sister Dai! I am finished! Save Ling-Kun Zeng quickly!”

I saw that Ling-Kun Zeng was about to pass away. The whole room was filled with the stench of blood. We immediately decided to take her to the county hospital. We took the saving of her life as a most urgent matter. During the entire trip to the hospital, we continuously prayed for empowerment from the Buddha Master. We also continuously recited the Six Syllable Great Brightness Mantra and prayed that the Buddha Master would save the life of Ling-Kun Zeng.

As soon as the doctor in the emergency room of the county hospital saw Ling-Kun Zeng, he decided not to accept her for treatment. That doctor said, “The patient won’t pull through. Her life cannot be saved. Her symptoms are those indicating death.” We sincerely begged that doctor to save Ling-Kun Zeng. At the same time, we wholeheartedly intoned the name of H.H. Holiest Tathagata Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu Buddha Master and the name of Guan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, beseeching them to empower Ling-Kun Zen so that her life could be saved.

After our repeated sincere requests in that emergency room of the county hospital, the doctor examined the wounds of Ling-Kun Zeng. After the examination, the doctor said that it is possible she could not be saved. She was stabbed three times in the back. Her liver was stabbed more than an inch deep and as a result was torn apart. She had internal bleeding all over her body. She was in a deep state of unconsciousness and was not breathing. Her pulse occasionally moved ever so faintly. Her condition was extremely critical. The doctor immediately issued a notification that the patient’s situation was critical.

At this time, Sister Dai and I felt extremely bad, but we steadfastly believed in the awesome spiritual powers of our Buddha Master. Sister Dai and I continually prayed to the Buddha Master that His Holiness quickly empower Ling-Kun Zeng. We also immediately telephoned our infinitely compassionate Buddha Master and beseeched him to empower Ling-Kun Zeng. The magnificent Buddha Master very compassionately stated, “Do not worry. I will immediately practice the dharma to empower her.”

With the empowerment from the magnificent Buddha Master, Ling-Kun Zeng miraculously came back to life. She was truly snatched from the jaws of death. The doctors at the scene all said that what occurred was quite miraculous. They wondered how her fate could be so extraordinary. They expressed how surprised they were that she did not die despite suffering what should have been three fatal stabs and despite losing nearly all of her blood. But there is something even more miraculous with respect to the wounded Ling-Kun Zeng, who was on the verge of death. Seven days later, her stitches were removed, she got out of bed, and returned home.

This was an incredible event that Sister Shou-Pin Dai and I personally experienced. Under the compassionate empowerment and protection of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Buddha Master, the wounded Ling-Kun Zeng was saved at the brink of death. She received a new lease on life. These recollections are true. They are events that we personally went through and handled.

命可以改變嗎

經常聽到有些人抱怨生活種種的不如意,埋怨自己的命不好,常常跟著別人去算命,結果還是改變不了現狀。於是很多人就提出了這樣的疑問:命可以改變嗎?是別人能幫助改變,還是自己就能改變?也許我們從下面這則故事中能得到一些啟發。

《了凡四訓》這本書,盡管有許多不符合佛教義理的地方,而撰寫《了凡四訓》的袁了凡卻因受到雲谷禪師的指點,擺脫了宿命論的“束縛”。

他因幼年喪父,母親讓他遵祖訓放棄學業而從醫,但他又心有不甘,後遇算命的孔先生指出他有仕途之運,乃經母親同意進入學館並一路進取。自秀才而逐級往上考,但直到中年仿佛都沒有跳出當年算命先生所算,以致陷入了宿命論的桎梏。

正當他精神苦悶而沈淪之時,一次偶然的機會,袁了凡到了南京,於棲霞山拜訪了有名的雲谷禪師,他問:“命數可以逃避嗎?”雲谷禪師說:“命,並不是一成不變的,完全由你自己決定。你常做善事,命運就好;你常作惡事,命運就不好了。”雲谷禪師為他講解了佛法的因果道理,叫他不要被命運束縛,要掌握自己的命運。

袁了凡聽了這番高論,恍然大悟,從此改變了他的人生態度,他按照雲谷禪師的教導發奮努力,行善積德。而那位算命的孔先生為他推算的命運再也不準了:算他考不中舉人,他居然考中了;算他禮部科舉考第三名,他考了第一名;算他命中無子,他居然生了一個好兒子;算他只活五十歲,他居然活到了六十九歲,還著書立說。這則故事告訴我們,命運是可以改變的,而且掌握在自己手中!算命的孔先生雖能預知一些事情,但這種“人的禍福吉兇都是命定的”的觀點是宿命論,是違背因果的。而雲谷禪師是佛教高僧,用佛法教給袁了凡改命的方法,袁了凡按照雲谷禪師的方法堅持不懈地去做,最終讓他改變命運。

因果是宇宙人生的真諦,萬事萬物皆遵循因果規律。我們現在所遭受的一切好的、壞的,都是我們往昔、今生所種的因而得的果,一切皆因果,因果是不昧的。很多人由於不懂因果,總想通過算命看相求些心理安慰,或是想化解自己的問題,其實是非常愚昧的。大家試想一下,如果命是一成不變的,時間到了就會呈現,那什麼也不用做了,等著就好了,這可能嗎?如果我們當真什麼也不做時,又會是什麼樣子呢?南無羌佛說法《什麼叫修行?》告訴我們:“修行,即是修善惡二所緣業之增益與離避。也就是增益善緣,種善因,結善果;離避惡所緣,離惡因,避惡果。”因果雖然滅除不了,但我們可以通過精進修行,就可以“善業築壁,猶如築一道擋土墻”,把往昔、今生所種的惡因起到隔開的作用,從而改變我們的命運。《淺釋邪惡見和錯誤知見》中明確指出:“認不明信因果迷命理運氣。不明信因果,不相信因果,否認因果,而相信算命,相信運氣,這是邪惡知見。要知道萬事萬法都是因果關系。”“而這些算命占卜也解決不了你們的問題,那只是封建迷信,是違背因果的故不可信。”

人生路上,每一個人都會遭逢許多的逆境和不如意,我們唯有明信因果,學會放下,並積極探求解決問題的辦法,才有助於問題的解決。同時,要樹立正確知見,好好修行,從諸惡莫做、眾善奉行開始,用修行來轉換因果,這是改變我們命運的根本方面!

執手渡心,以孝導行

林薇已經三年沒和父親好好說話了。

不是不想,是不能。每次電話接通,父親總會用那種憐憫又帶著責備的語氣說:“薇薇啊,別老琢磨那些虛無縹緲的東西,那個東西帶不來吃,帶不來穿,咱們就是普通老百姓,好好過日子不行嗎?”而她每次試圖解釋 “佛法不是虛無縹緲”,電話那頭只剩忙音。

後來,話不投機半句多,她索性就不說了。只是逢年過節寄錢,生日送禮物,但不再提一個佛字。她想:隨他去吧,七十多歲的人了,改不了。

直到那年冬天,父親摔了一跤,她連夜趕回老家。

病房里,父親瘦得像一截枯木,眼神卻還是硬的。林薇每天給他擦身、喂飯、讀報紙,但父女之間隔著一堵透明的墻。有一天傍晚,她幫父親翻身時,發現他枕頭底下壓著一張泛黃的照片——是她十八歲離家上大學時拍的,笑得像晨光。

她的眼淚一下子掉下來。

父親慌了:“哭什麼,我又死不了。”

林薇沒說話,蹲下來,輕輕握住他的手。那雙手粗糙、冰涼,骨節像老樹的根。她第一次沒有急著講道理,沒有試圖糾正什麼,只是安靜地握著。

“爸,我給你念個故事吧。”她說。

父親楞了一下,沒有反對。

她念的不是佛經,而是父親年輕時最愛看的《西遊記》——那還是她小時候,父親每天睡前給她讀的書。念到孫悟空偷蟠桃那一段,父親的嘴角竟然微微翹了起來。

第二天,她又念。第三天,父親說:“你念慢點,我耳朵跟不上。”

她放慢聲音,一個字一個字地念。念到唐僧在女兒國動心的那一段,父親忽然開口:“你說唐僧取經,圖什麼?”

林薇想了想:“圖幫人離苦吧。”

父親說:“哎,一個人連個家都沒有,還到處去取經,這不苦嗎?自己都這麼苦,怎麼幫別人離苦啊?”

林薇想了想說:“爸,你記得抗美援朝的戰士吧,他們在冰天雪地里面臨死亡時是這麼說:我們現在吃苦,為了我們的親人不會再吃苦……”

父親沈默了很久,窗外的雪落在老槐樹上,簌簌地響。

“你這些年信的,”他聲音很輕,“也是圖這個?”

林薇點頭。

父親沒有再說話,但那只冰涼的手,慢慢翻過來,握住了她的手。

春天來的時候,父親出院了。有一天晚飯後,他忽然問她:“你那個什麼……正見,到底說的是什麼?”

林薇沒有長篇大論,只說:“爸,慢慢地,我講給你聽……”

後來她才真正明白:善導父母入正見,不是說服,不是辯論,是用孝心鋪一條路,讓他們自己走過來。真正的智慧不在言辭里,而在那一雙手握住另一雙手的溫度中。撒手不管,是最容易的路。而真正的愛,是哪怕隔著萬水千山,也願意彎下腰,牽著另一雙手,一步一步,慢慢走。

正如南無羌佛《淺釋邪惡見和錯誤知見》其中錯誤知見第四十一條,“認子女不善導父母入正見。”作為子女有時會遇到父母不學佛,子女束手無策,於是幹脆就不管了,放之任從。這是錯誤的,子女應該想盡一切辦法孝順父母,使他們高興,感化他們,善導他們,讓他們逐漸走入正見,走入佛法的道路。子女要努力善導父母入正見,讓父母幸福,不能撒手不管。”

總之,子女遇到父母不學佛,切不可灰心放棄、任其不管。佛陀的說法告訴我們,越是束手無策的時候,越要想盡一切辦法,用孝順與關愛去感化父母。就像林薇那樣,她沒有硬塞道理,而是從父親最熟悉的故事入手,用陪伴、耐心和真誠的孝心,慢慢融化了父親心中的那堵墻。父母能不能入正見,固然要看他們的因緣,但子女的職責永不能推卸——用慈悲溫暖父母,用智慧善巧引導父母,讓父母在感受到幸福與敬愛之後,自然而然地願意了解正見、走向光明。這是子女對父母最深沈的報恩,也是修行路上最真切的孝道。

佛法鑒別聖凡真假“十八法”引發的思考

自世界佛教總部公布諸佛鑒別聖凡真假之十八類大法以來,引發了佛教界乃至非佛教界愛好者、佛教研究者的普遍關注,期間褒貶不一,眾說紛紜,此十八法亮劍以來,使真凡假法立刻暴露在光天化日之下,這是十方諸佛早有之法,目的就是鑒別聖凡真假,保護眾生慧命不受侵害。為什麼聖凡真假由此得鑒?因為不是聖者,凡俗之流不敢修此十八法,若修必然暴露凡夫的無能本質。

此十八法可謂是自佛史以來首次公開,報身古佛還原了南無釋迦世尊佛法的本來面目,可謂我佛慈悲,眾生解脫成就有望!也由此給我帶來如是之思考…

一、十八法是鑒別聖凡真假一把智慧的寶劍

十八法中,諸如:佛降甘露、送菩薩一表、勝義火供、現量伏藏、先知預言、隔石建壇、菩提聖水、拿杵上座、菩提道損減增益法……等十八法都是擇決鑒別聖凡正邪的法,每一法都有不同的佛菩薩、金剛、護法為本尊,有不同的聖境顯現。每一法都是實實在在展現在大眾面前,比如佛降甘露,那就是虛空的佛陀駕臨壇場上空,將甘露降到大眾面前的空缽中,這就是當下兌現的佛法。再比如“勝義火供”,2018年9月19日在聖跡寺就由巨聖德主持了一場百千萬劫難遭遇的“勝義火供法會”,巨聖德修法,祈請金剛佛母,般若佛母,護法聖眾,親臨火壇,由虛空駕臨的金剛佛母親自點火,當下修法,當下兌現,也是真正受不了騙的佛法。由此聯想到西藏的某些披著聖者外裝的假法王、假法師、假活佛竟然將自己沒有經過先知預言的法說成是聖義大法,什麼大圓滿加行、大圓滿精髓、大圓滿深道六法……然後抽簽,不經擇決就揚言是弟子所修之法,真是可笑至極;還有的將康定的兒歌當成大圓滿法的儀軌,真是魔強法弱多遭難的時代啊!兩相對比之下,十八法的出現,真是及時之雨,眾生之福,是真金白銀還是破銅爛鐵立見真偽!在十八法面前,任何虛假不實的佛法都將照出原形無疑。

二、不可做井底之蛙,所知之障將導致墮落,不得成就

這是很多學佛行人乃至有所成就的法師、活佛都犯的通病,以個人知不知道、聽沒聽過來判斷真理、人、事的正確於否?殊不知是犯了所知之障,實際上這是無知的表現,因為佛法博大精深,當年南無釋迦世尊演說天堂部、水府部的佛法,我們娑婆世界人道眾生實際是聞所未聞,而龍樹菩薩起傲慢之心,認為南無釋迦世尊的教法自己都知道了,不過如此,於是被龍王邀請到龍宮“做客”,當龍樹菩薩看到水府部的佛法後,自己根本就沒有見過,才發現自己是井底之蛙,龍宮比人間的佛法多百分之七十,天上又比龍宮多百分之七十。這是很耐人尋味的事情,龍樹菩薩何等聖賢!尚且犯了如此傲慢的偏見,我們更當吸取教訓,十八法亦然,這本是十方諸佛之法,不可以自己沒有聽說過十八法而否定這些真實偉大佛法的存在,否則,將墮入輪回,不得解脫成就!

三、十八法是佛法,不可做佛學理論研究

現在社會上很多佛學理論研究者更是讓人啼笑皆非,他們以知識淵博自居,連最基本的佛教、佛學、佛法都搞不懂,張冠李戴,東拉西扯,把佛法作為理論知識進行研究,不知道佛法真諦之所在,實屬典型的經教子,佛法可以研究嗎?非也,佛法就是佛法,是佛陀傳下來讓眾生成就解脫的聖義之法,只能像嬰兒吃奶那樣去體悟學習,而不是研究,不是作為知識讓您去填充世間法的什麼學問,其實,他是不知道佛法與佛學的區別,更不懂佛教在人間的本質所在,說白了就是不懂佛教就是使人能夠依佛之行為修持,加上佛所傳之法自我用功,雙運結合,體佛之教,來達到佛那樣的證覺。

因此,看似佛教研究大家、學富五車、才高八斗,實際上腹內原來草莽,在佛法面前,不堪一擊,不懂佛學、佛法統攝一切世間法的知識,實在愚癡至極。

四、誹謗者的悲哀

從南無釋迦世尊弘傳佛教以來,波旬魔王就開始對立,肆意破壞佛教,時臨末法時代的今天,魔子魔孫更是猖狂至極,他們正在兌現當年波旬魔王發下的誓願,利用我佛慈悲所有眾生、不會傷害他們、反而度化他們的本願,反其道而行之,穿袈裟、占寺廟、破佛律儀、宣說假法、邪法,以種種形進入僧團,斷人慧命。他們自命不凡,否定十八法的存在,揚言經書中沒有這些佛法,實際上他們什麼都清楚,就是故意而為之,這也正是其妖魔的本性。最終輪回痛苦的三惡道就是他們的下場,真是悲哉可憐!

五、了徹十八法生用的基礎

十八法是十方諸佛共有之法,是為慈悲利益眾生而誕生,也是修行者聖證量的展現,更是修行者證道解脫成就的體現,它同樣依修行為基礎,離開修行,再高的佛法也將是無本之木、無源之水!

作為真正的學佛修行人,為了學到此至高佛法,我們就要從善其流,依於修行,不錯因果,明信因果,轉化因果,行法雙運而行,直至福慧圓滿、覺行成就,才能解脫無礙!十八法才能為我利生所用!我想這也是十八法存在於世的根本所在吧!

六、真佛法得大成就,假佛法必將墮落

十八法是十方諸佛所傳讓眾生成就解脫的聖義之法,它以大悲菩提心為成道之基因,以慈悲利益眾生為本願,以正知正見為先導,以般若智慧為結晶,以修行為基礎,以辨聖凡真假為目的,以最終導化眾生出離輪回痛苦為根本。相反假佛法以殘害眾生、斷人慧命為目的,代表波旬魔王的利益,他們邪知邪見、全是空洞的佛學理論,沒有實證聖量表法,因此只能否定真實佛法的存在,以達到他們維護自身利益的目的!

當今時代,報身古佛正住世,我輩何其有幸與古佛同住世!因此,我們一定要倍加珍惜這百千萬劫難遭遇的時段,修學真正的如來正法,以十八法為辨妖器去鑒別佛法之聖凡真假,只要這樣我們才能遠離邪惡,一步步走向成就解脫!

Blessing Given by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for the Grand Opening of Hua Zang Si

In the evening of December 25th, 2004, we were all working so hard to prepare for the next day’s grand opening of Hua Zang Si. Shu-Hui Chiang received a phone call from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu Holiest Tathagata, who at that time was a thousand miles away from San Francisco, asking whether Hua Zang Si was blessed by a Buddha light. This was first time Shu-Hui Chiang received a direct call from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. She was somewhat nervous but still reported to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III honestly, “There isn’t any Buddha light. It is cloudy and drizzling in San Francisco.” According to the weather forecast, it will start raining soon. After Shu-Hui Chiang’s report, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III told her clearly, “Notify everyone in Hua Zang Si. There will soon be a Buddha light to bless Hua Zang Si for the grand opening.” So she did. We all waited outside for the Buddha light. Not long, the clouds suddenly spread out.

The sky became clear. Right on top of Hua Zang Si, there was a big circle of multi-color Buddha light shining around the moon. It seemed like a curtain and shined down upon Hua Zang Si to bless it. There was a news report giving the details of the Buddha light that night.

All that is described above is nothing but the truth. If there is anything fake about this, I am willing to bear all punishment. If it is true, I dedicate all the merits to all living beings, who I wish would have the opportunity to listen to the dharma discourses of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu Holiest Tathagata.

死亡现象是因果铁律的最好证明

我是一名司法医学警察,就是俗话说的「法医」。我工作的这个实验室专门为两所中级法院和四个区县公安分局提供司法医学鉴定上的支持。

简单一点说,如果哪里发生了命案,就会把尸体送到我们实验室,由我们进行检查,找出死亡原因,出具一份报告,递交给法院或者公安局。

人有生必然有死,人的死亡原因五花八门,很难想象。但是,在我们出具正式报告的时候,有严格的格式。一般来说,分为根本死因、直接死因、辅助死因、诱导死因以及联合死因。

我之所以解释这些专业术语,是想说,我们这个社会对死亡是有一整套完整的逻辑体系的,而且这个逻辑体系完全可以实现对死亡的正确解释。

比如说,一起交通事故中,一位七十多岁的老人被电动车撞倒,头部撞到路边的水泥路桩,就这样死了。

其死亡检查报告会这样说:「头部钝器损伤致使闭合性颅骨骨折,继发性颅内感染,多脏器衰竭,免疫系统紊乱死亡。」其中,头部损伤是根本死因,颅内感染是直接死因,免疫系统紊乱就是辅助死因。

但是,这样的解释真的能够解答「一个人为什么会死去」这样一个重大的问题吗?我从事法医工作二十六年,一直对这个现象感到困惑。

因为在同样的损伤下,有人会死掉,有人则会活下来;有人遭受了很小的损伤就死掉了,有人则遭受了很大的损伤却奇迹般地活了下来。

后来我接触了佛法,在对佛法有了一些粗浅的认识之后,对这个问题就释然了。死亡是这个世界的一部分,是人生的一个结果,是因果律的一个环节。如果从这个角度来认识,我们就能够十分清晰地认清死亡的真相。

所以,最近几年,我对自己经手的案子都进行了更加深入的调查,做了很多笔记,越来越感到,死亡不是偶然发生的,它是因果铁律的最好证明。

我听到有些亡者家属向我痛苦地陈述:

为什么死者那么善良,却偏偏中年早逝?为什么某某坏人做尽了恶事,却享有高寿?为什么一生谨慎的人,却遭遇飞来横祸?

为什么那些粗心大意的莽汉,千万次在马路上横冲直撞,却从来毫发无损?

我就想,所有的怨恨,都来自于对因果的不明,死亡现象是因果铁律的最好证明。下面我们来看三个案子:

杀鸡为业者被亲生子割喉而死

先说最让我困扰的一个灭门案子,这个案子直接引导我走进了佛门。案子本身并不复杂,但因为拖的时间很长,所以我调查得比较深入。

2002年,一个28岁的小伙子,在深夜杀死了自己六十多岁的父母。

两个死者在半夜熟睡的时候被捆在床上,然后被割喉,鲜血溅到墙上,血迹呈点状喷射。

凶手当天晚上逃逸,后来在南方某小城市被捕。凶手已经结婚,育有一个儿子。案发的当晚,妻子因为离婚争执而抱孩子回了娘家,避开了这起杀人噩梦。

表面上看,这是一个事实清楚、证据确凿的案子,而且检察院有口供,有完整的证据链条,甚至有目击证人,应该从严从快从重判决。

果然,一审很快就下达了死刑立即执行、剥夺政治权利终身的判决。

但被告律师以罪犯有严重的精神疾病,申请进行精神鉴定为由上诉了,二审又拖了很长时间,结果以「事实不清」,退回一审法院重审,一审法院又要求检察院补充侦查,充实证据。

这样又拖了很长时间,最终判决是死刑缓期两年执行,被告律师再次上诉,结果被驳回,判决成为终审判决,这个案子就这样完结。

这个案子前后拖了四年之久,我出庭作证七八次。在补充侦查期间,又对死者全家进行了深入调查,积累了大量资料。

起诉书解释被告的杀人动机时,说凶手是家里唯一的儿子,从小被溺爱,性格十分张狂偏执。

因为家庭住房紧张,凶手结婚后夫妻俩一直与老人生活在一起,矛盾冲突频发。

案发前几天,父母与妻子再次爆发争执,凶手要求父母给钱买房,父母表示暂时没有钱,并且责怪儿子丢了工作,没有能力,在邻居面前都没有面子,因而激发了凶手的杀人恶念。

但是,这真的能够彻底解释凶手的杀人动机吗?

世界上被溺爱的儿子那么多,发生争执的家庭那么多,怎么偏偏就这个凶手会萌发杀死亲生父母的念头呢?在卷宗里,我发现了这么一段很惊人的口供,凶手是这样说的:

「我早就想杀了他们,他们很没用,给我买套房也没那本事,死了算了。我盘算这事有好几个月了,但他们是我的亲生父母,我不愿意让他们死的很痛苦。我想给他们喝农药,但去药店的半路又回来了,因为农药会烧坏肠子。我又想用电动车带他们到水库边去玩,把他们一把推到水库里淹死,但那天也没有实现。所以翻来覆去地想,还是这样(割喉)比较好,没太多痛苦,死得快。」

当我看这段口供的时候,我脊梁骨凉飕飕的。

因为在我调查过程中了解到,被杀的老两口在农贸市场上开了一个活鸡宰杀的摊位,生意做得很好。

当我去现场调查的时候,因为这个摊位的主人被杀,别人都认为这个摊位不吉利,租都租不出去。

据旁边的人介绍,死者都是将活鸡捆好,倒吊在一根铁丝绳上,然后捏住鸡头,对鸡进行割喉,鸡血也不会浪费,还能卖钱。

这个生意死者已经做了一辈子,赚了不少钱。而且,据说这个割喉宰杀活鸡的手艺还是他们家祖传下来的。

我记得就是这件事让我开始对自己信奉的逻辑产生了质疑,让我对因果律有了特别刻骨铭心的认识。

当天晚上我几乎一夜未眠。

虽然我不敢那么确凿地说,就是因为死者一辈子宰杀活鸡,对那么多活鸡进行割喉,所以才导致了自己被亲生儿子割喉的厄运。

但这种巧合,难道不会让我们感到惊心动魄吗?我就是这样对佛门的因果律产生了信仰的。

大恶矿主的惨烈结局

我们常常认为死亡是件坏事,但出乎我们意料的是,「不死」是一件更坏的事情,更像是一种比死还要可怕的惩罚。

这是一起矿难事故案件。矿主赵某在一个小乡镇开了一家小煤矿。煤矿没有任何生产资质,也没有安全措施,全靠与当地权势人物的私人关系维持经营。很显然,他背后有强大的保护伞,因为在矿难之后,当地都无法顺利侦查,只好移交给我们这里异地办案。

其实并不是全国性的安全事故,只是因为瓦斯爆炸导致矿井坍塌,死一人,重伤两人。按照他们行业里的潜规则,这种矿难一般都是通过给予工人家属比较大金额的赔偿,就能对付过去了。但很凑巧,当时正好遇到全国安监系统的大检查,被暗访组查了个彻底,矿主就被刑拘了。

我和其他侦查人员去找赵某取证的时候,看守所的人员告诉我,赵某因为糖尿病被送医院去了。

我赶到司法局下属的医院,见到了赵某。赵某有五十多岁,身材魁梧,声音洪亮,性格十分强硬,根本不予配合。他在床边坐着,对我的提问爱理不理。直到我临走的时候,他还告诉我:「你放心,用不了一个月,就会有人保我出去的。」

他说的没错。由于种种干扰因素,案件进行得十分不顺,很快就办理了变更强制措施的手续,改为监视居住。但就在他欢呼马上要恢复人身自由的那天晚上,糖尿病和胆结石一起严重发作,虽然看守所不留他,但疾病却把他给留下了。

从那以后赵某就再也没离开过医院。过了四个多月,案子终于判决了。赵某被判处有期徒刑六年,但他已经进不了监狱了,因为身体越来越衰弱,他的刑期只能在公安医院里执行了。

因为工作原因,我经常要去公安医院办事,也经常能够见着他。因为有钱,他仍然一个人住着干净整洁的单人病房,虽然窗户都有铁栏杆焊得死死的。每次见面,他眼睛都睁得大大的,好像在想什么心事。有一次他问我:「你信教吗?」我坦然地告诉他:「是的,我是佛教徒。」他叹口气,没说话。

过了一阵子,他就因为病情严重而转院了,监狱也办理了保外就医的手续。但很奇怪的是,不光监狱不收留他,医院不收留他,阎王爷也不收留他。当我再次见着他时,他已经在病榻上躺了快八个月了。一米八的大个子,体重迅速降到了九十斤。我们常见面聊天,他对我也越来越信任,有时候,还托我去办点私事。

我虽然是学医出身,却没见过那么消瘦的身体,双眼完全深深凹下去,颧骨巨高,嘴唇青紫,肋骨突出,一根一根清晰可见。呼吸的时候,肋骨轻微起伏,让你感觉一碰就能折断。大腿更令人不敢正眼去看,瘦得和胳膊一样粗,皮肤极度松弛,就像是直接搭在骨头上,一点肌肉都没有了。

因为胆结石做了腹腔手术,肚子上有一个小伤口,但因为他患有糖尿病,这个伤口迟迟不能愈合,而且反复感染,周围的皮肤都溃烂了。这副骷髅像足以让人做噩梦。

我查看了他的病历,按照常理,像瘦成这样的病人,因为多脏器衰竭,早就没有力量再支撑心跳了,但他却顽强而痛苦地活着,就是不死。

虽然他一再跟我表示,现在唯一的目标就是死,死是最舒服的事情。他现在每分每秒都在极度的痛苦中。

有一次他拒绝进食十多天,心力严重衰竭,医生都认为必死无疑,他却又鬼使神差地活了回来。

有很长一段时间,我因为工作忙碌,没有再见着他。但有天他托护士给我打电话,请我过去。那天晚上,他用极度微弱的声音,跟我说了件事。

十多年前,在他刚刚起步做小煤窑的时候,因为缺乏资金,就托人在火车站骗来了一些弱智的流浪汉,让他们下井挖煤,而且还不付工资,只需要雇几个保安就可以。

在他积累到第一桶金之后,为了隐瞒真相,他封闭了那个小煤窑的矿井,任由这些弱智者在黑暗中慢慢饥饿、窒息而死。

他的供述后来被证实了,公安机关在所述地挖出来二十多具骸骨。

后来赵某在医院又待了接近半年的时间,这半年,他几乎每分每秒都是在高度病危中度过的,但无论如何,他就是不死。

他的家产全部都充作了医疗费,他的家人再也不来探望他。

虽然高度病危,他却能日夜不停地嚎叫,声带都扯裂了,因为严重的免疫系统缺失,他身上任何一个小伤口都不能愈合,都会反复感染,然后溃烂。

到最后,他身上几乎找不到一块好皮肤,全身都在严重的溃烂当中。

我没有再去见他,但听他身边的护士说,他死后,用被单裹住尸体搬运的时候,骨头如此之脆,当场就发生了好几处骨折,皮肤溃烂化脓,他尸体在放进冷冻柜之前,几乎都要化成一摊肉泥了。

拨弄是非者舌被冻掉

还有一件十分离奇的案子,就发生在去年冬天。

我半夜接到任务,要去现场。市郊乡村有一座大桥,有市民报警说大桥吊死了一个人。

我们赶到现场的时候,发现自杀的是一个女人,经过勘验,我认为她自杀的决心很大,根本没有任何犹豫就套住脖子跳了下去,力量十分大,连颈骨都勒断了。

我们查明了这个女人的身份,她就来自附近的一个村庄。结果呢,有更惊人的一幕在等待我们。

这个女人家里,床上赫然躺着一个不足周岁的孩子的尸体。警察赶到的时候,孩子的父亲还不知道妻子已经自杀的消息,正在哭天抹泪地向警察说事情的原委。

原来,事情并不复杂。丈夫外出到朋友家喝酒,妻子独自在家带孩子。

丈夫回来之后,妻子就跟他大吵了一架,说他在外面有外遇,跟某某女人相好。丈夫一怒之下,又离家去找朋友喝酒。

女人也很生气,就给丈夫发了条短信,说你回来看孩子吧,我不会再看孩子了。但男人酒劲正醺,根本没有注意到短信。

等他回家时才发现孩子因为蹬掉被子,已经冻死了。因为当地农村的房子,根本没有暖气。

可怜这个男人还不知道妻子已经上吊自杀的事情,还在向警察愤愤地说是因为妻子的失误,导致孩子被冻死了。

等警察告诉他,你老婆已经上吊自杀了,他一声没吭,就昏死过去了。

因为琐事导致两条性命丧失,一个幸福美满的家庭因此破碎。我们唯有叹息而已。

经过仔细的勘验,我们确认是自杀,没有疑问。这个案子很快就可以结案。

但在调查中,我们发现,其实住在村头国道边一个修理摩托车的刘某才是这起惨剧的始作俑者。

经过走访我了解到,刘某五十多岁,离婚多年,独自生活,平素喜欢搬弄是非,毫无缘由地挑拨关系。

正是他告诉这个女人,你老公有外遇了,而且描述得惟妙惟肖,十分逼真。当我们调查这些所谓外遇传说的时候,发现其实都是道听途说。

有很多村民反映,刘某最喜欢干这种挑拨是非的事情。

很多家庭都因为他背地里胡说八道,导致不和睦,夫妻反目,父子交恶,甚至大打出手。每当刘某听说自己的挑拨得逞,就兴奋得不行,还在酒桌上洋洋得意。

但是这毕竟也构不成诽谤罪,也构不成任何其他罪名,虽然女人因为误信谣言而轻生,但也不能因此就说刘某是杀人犯。

所以对于刘某,警察也只能训斥一顿作罢。

离奇的是,过了不到几个月,当地的片警告诉我刘某出事了。一天夜里,刘某在朋友家喝酒大醉,回到修理铺之后,半夜爬起来还要喝酒,摸着一个瓶子,迷迷糊糊地就啜了一口。

未料这不是啤酒,而是液态氦[hài]。

这种溶剂是用于摩托车钣金喷漆用的,温度极低,喷射出来之后在短短的两秒钟之内,就可以冻结任何东西。

刘某当场就昏死过去,幸好旁边有人,及时将他送到医院。医生发现他的舌头就像坚硬的冰雕,轻轻一碰,就掉了下来。

医生说,他不仅舌头没有了,整个口腔也难以保全,将来,他可能一辈子都需要一根胃管吃饭。

对于医生来说,死亡其实是一种疾病或者损伤必然导致的结果。从医学上来说,任何死亡,都是由疾病或者损伤引发的。

即便那些寿终正寝,在睡梦中悄然逝去的高龄老人,肯定也有一种疾病的原因可以解释。

因此,医学对于生命的认识,对于因果的认识,就变得十分机械、简单,甚至粗暴。如果发烧了,就降低体温,如果胃癌,就切除一部分坏掉的胃,如果血压太高,就扩张血管,如果心跳没有力量了,就使用心脏起搏器,如果嘴巴不能呼吸了,就在气管里插根管子……

于是我常常反省自己,这种解释虽然听起来很有道理,很直观,但真的能够解释生命的因果吗?

我是一个佛弟子,同时,我也是一个非常敬业的医生。对科学与信仰,我都保持着敬畏之心。

但是,我不能不说,科学的局限,的确残酷地限制了我们的视野。一个人必然会死去,他死的时间,死的方式,死的痛苦与否,的确与他的所作所为,有很确实的因果关联。

我相信,假如我不是因为相信了佛法,因此利用业余时间对死者背景进行了更多的调查工作,我也会简单地将可怕的死亡归结为损伤、疾病、暴力犯罪什么的。

在我经过大量的调查,深入分析之后,我发现,「善有善报,恶有恶报」,一点不错。

如果举个例子来说,我们能看见星星的闪烁,那必然是因为亿万公里之外的某个星球在发光,但是,这个光芒可能经过了几百年上千年才传达到我们的眼睛。

因果之间的距离可能很短,可能很长,但因果之间的坚定联系,是绝对不可否认的。

但是,这种因果律有的时候十分明显,一眼就能看到,但很多时候,这种因果律表现得十分隐蔽、曲折,除非有很深的洞察力,否则很难看清楚里边的奥秘。

不过,如果我们对佛法有坚定的信心,就能够知道,所谓善终,一定是一种结果,而这个结果,一定是因为某些重大的原因。所谓「种瓜得瓜,种豆得豆。」

总结我自己这些年来所记录下的死亡笔记,只能感慨地说,佛法所谓「众生业力不可思议」,确实是至高至真的真理,这是毫无疑问的。

唯有用这个真理来解释我们日常生活里的生死问题,才能得到满意的答案。其他的解释,则都是皮毛而已。

尤其是以医学解释死亡现象,表面上很有道理,其实真的是南辕北辙。(文/秋颖)

這三樣東西是我們人生的障礙,不可不鑒

人生之路,多有坎坷,若想坦途,請忌狂妄、貪婪與怨恨。

人敗多為狂。狂妄自大之人,往往自以為是,聽不進他人之言,最終自食苦果。如古代的趙括,自認為軍事才能卓越,不聽長者勸阻,狂妄讓他迷失方向,結果一敗塗地。

事敗多為貪。貪婪無度之人,總是欲壑難填,不知節制。當今不少股民也是由於貪心而存著投機心態,最後一敗塗地。正如南無第三世多杰羌佛說法,本不該屬於你的,你想獲得就叫貪。貪很可怕,貪能壞道。

家敗多為怨。湖南張家界千萬富翁羅某,因其兒子索要財產未果,心生怨恨,將父親強行送到了精神病院,最後造成家破人亡。這告訴我們,怨恨如同毒藥,侵蝕著家庭的和諧與幸福。

我們應時常反思自己,摒棄狂妄、貪婪與怨恨,以平和、知足與寬容的心態面對生活。如此,才能在人生道路上穩步前行,避免災禍降臨。

讚嘆他人,即是長他人威風,滅自己士氣嗎

在日常生活中,幾乎每個人都喜歡他人對自己的讚嘆,但自己卻很少讚嘆別人。面對他人做出了有益的事情,好像讚嘆了他人自己就失去了什麼。殊不知,發自內心的隨喜讚嘆他人,可獲得無量的福德。

釋迦牟尼佛住世時,有位叫勝光王的國王迎請佛陀以及眾弟子和眷屬受供,當時有位行乞的貧女得知國王這一善行後,內心生起了無上的歡喜心。令人驚奇的是,後來貧女隨喜的功德比國王做供養的功德還大,這到底是什麼原因呢?由於在做功德的時候,國王雜有傲慢心等煩惱,而當時貧女發出“隨喜讚嘆”的時候,只有歡喜之心,沒有摻雜一絲煩惱。可見發自真心的隨喜讚嘆,功德是多麼的殊勝!

有人想:“我讚嘆他人,那不是長他人的威風,滅自己的士氣嗎?”,持這種錯誤觀點的人,平時一定不善於隨喜讚嘆他人,要知道,他錯過了多少積累福德的機會啊!其實,隨喜讚嘆是件雙贏的好事,既能給他人帶來愉悅,又給自己積累了福德。《普賢行願品》中普賢菩薩十大行願中的第五大願就是“隨喜功德”,隨喜功德是我們獲得福慧增長的一個重要方法。《佛說四十二章經》中的“喜施獲福”章雲:“睹人施道,助之歡喜,得福甚大。”

也許我們知道了隨喜讚嘆的功德,但缺乏一顆隨喜讚嘆的心。因為很多時候,我們被自身業力所障,眼里只有他人的缺點和不足,卻往往忽略了他人的善行和付出。有時我們對自己家人辛勤的付出視而不見,代之而來的卻是指責和抱怨,缺乏感恩之心;對身邊同事朋友的幫助,看得理所當然,連一句謝謝都沒有。

有段時間,有個熱心的朋友經常開車拉我們幾個同事上下班,當我們幾個都讚嘆這位朋友的善良時,坐車次數最多的那個同事卻一臉不屑,她說這有什麼了不起的,她只是順路拉了我們。其實我們身邊這樣不肯讚嘆他人的人不在少數。我有個行善群,義工們每天忙到大半夜,可是群里就有人發牢騷,說這麼晚了還發什麼信息。他只在乎自己的感受,而看不到他人的付出,如果他能理解義工們的辛苦和無私付出,他就應該隨喜讚嘆而不會產生煩惱情緒了。

很多時候我們不願隨喜讚嘆他人,是因為我們自私狹隘的嫉妒心在作怪。有人見不得他人比自己好,看他人有福報,心里就不愉快。這種陰暗的心理只會給自己帶來煩惱,而且人際關系也不會順利。而隨喜讚嘆卻能幫我們去除嫉妒,增益功德,讓自己的心胸寬廣,處處結下善緣。

隨喜讚嘆簡單易行而功德無量,我們何樂而不為呢?我們應當隨時隨地讚嘆他人的功德,無存嗔恨,無存嫉妒。當看到或聽到有人做善行的時候,我們要從內心讚嘆,或發心隨他一起去做,或助他人一臂之力,或自己暫時做不到,但內心真心隨喜讚嘆,也會有同樣甚至更大的功德。看到他人進步,我們應當讚嘆並為他高興;看到大家和睦相處,我們應當由衷為之高興;看到他人健康快樂,我們應當心生喜悅;看到他人升遷或榮華富貴,我們應當為他祝賀:看到怨敵勝過自己或仕途如意時,同樣心生喜樂並隨喜讚嘆。

A Glass Wound Disappeared Without a Scar After Bleeding for an Hour

The Compassion and Virtue of Dorje Chang Buddha III

On a day I was off from work, I had an idea of making a meal of steamed dumplings as an offering to our Master (refers to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu Holiest Tathagata.)

I was very happy about it at the time. After I finished mixing ingredients and seasonings into the dumpling filling, I did what I usually do at home when I cook. I picked up a tiny bit of the filling from the tray and tasted it with my tongue to find out if the amount of salt I put in was right. Then I put it back onto the tray. Such was the usual practice that I followed when cooking at home for my family. After that, I set aside the filling and began to mix the flour with water to make the dumpling wraps.

The Incident: A Severe Glass Wound

Right when I was placing the filling inside the wraps and before any of the dumplings were put in the steamer, I heard a sudden loud crashing sound. I was greatly scared by the sound because I was standing in the kitchen making dumplings and was not moving around at all. As I turned to look, I saw that a bottle of unopened soy sauce had for no reason at all fallen from the condiment table to the ground and was completely shattered. That table was about two to three feet away from me. The fright from that sudden and loud sound made my whole body break into a cold sweat. I then felt a flow of hot energy rising from my body to my head. A thought spontaneously flashed across my mind. I realized that I had committed an offense. I put my palms together and immediately started to repent. I reflected to myself, “Ah, I was wrong! I was stupid and ignorant. I am cooking for my Master (refers to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) now. How could I taste the filling first and then wrap it into the dumplings for my Master? Ah, I was wrong!”

Tears flowed down my face without stopping. I didn’t need to analyze it. I kept asking myself how I could have done that. My tears continued to flow. The only thought in my mind was that I was guilty of committing that offense. The more I thought about it, the more contrite I became and the guiltier I felt. Of course, after I repented, I felt a little relieved.

I was about to clean up the broken pieces of the glass bottle and the spilled soy sauce that was all over the floor and then quickly cook and present the meal to my Master. I couldn’t waste any time. However, as soon as I started to move my leg, I found I couldn’t walk. I felt great pain, and my right foot couldn’t touch the ground anymore. Leaning on the wall and moving with the other foot, I made my way to the bathroom. I raised my injured right foot onto the edge of the bathtub and, with great difficulty, took off the leather shoe on my right foot. I discovered that blood was continuously flowing from the arch of my right foot at a place slightly in front of the acupuncture point called yong quan. I realized that something had penetrated my shoe. I touched my foot while washing the blood off and found a sharp piece of glass in my foot arch. I carefully pulled it out. My foot was still bleeding. I did not have the time to treat the injury and simply used a piece of ordinary tissue paper to plug up the wound.

It was past 11 o’clock already, and I had to steam and bring the dumplings over to the Master’s house. It would take 25 minutes to get there by riding my bicycle. Any further delay would cause me to miss my Master’s mealtime. I didn’t want to delay even one second. That was the only thought in my mind. I must not delay the Master’s mealtime. I wasn’t concerned about my foot at all. If I missed the Master’s lunchtime, the dumplings would become leftovers for the evening. That would make me very unhappy indeed.

After going to my Master’s house and presenting the lunch, I came back home and sat on a chair. I realized that I had to treat my wound. It was a big cut with a lot of bleeding. I had worked as a medical doctor for three years and knew what needed to be done. I should first disinfect the wound with alcohol or iodine solution using cotton balls at home. Then I would go to the hospital to get a shot to prevent tetanus.

The Miracle Healing Without a Scar

However, after taking off my shoe, I saw that a miracle had happened. The wound on the bottom of my foot was nowhere to be found! Even any trace of the wound was gone! I was extremely surprised. The only thing I saw that was related to the wound was that piece of tissue in my shoe with dried blood on it. The cut by the sharp broken glass was no longer on my foot! This was very surprising to me but was absolutely true. I couldn’t understand this fact before my very eyes even after pondering it over many times. How could this happen?

I told the story to my husband that evening. He is a graduate of Beijing Postal and Telecommunications College and studied radio waves and digital communication. So he emphasizes scientific reasoning. He knew that I was telling the truth. He looked at my foot himself and affirmed that there was no wound. Neither of us could understand this no matter how hard we thought because it was inexplicable. Such a severe injury was gone after at most one hour without receiving any treatment. There was not even any trace of redness or swelling. You all may not know my situation. Normally, if I accidentally poke my finger with a needle while sewing a button, the little bit of bleeding causes the finger to swell for at least three days. That is precisely why what happened to me this time is so extraordinary.

Reflection on the Power of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

Later, I realized that this was a blessing from the dharma-protecting Bodhisattvas. They saw my stupid act of tasting food that was being prepared for and that was later presented to my Master. They were angry at me and gave me a warning by smashing the bottle of soy sauce. The dharma-protecting Bodhisattvas are also very benevolent to me. When they saw that I was sincerely repenting and correcting my mistake, they fully mended the cut on my foot. I am very grateful to my Master (refers to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) and am also very grateful to the dharma-protecting Bodhisattvas for their help.

From this experience, I truly realized that we disciples must be very pious to our Master. Our three karmas must completely correspond with those of our Master. There must not be the slightest deviation in such correspondence, whether intentional or not.

What I described above was a true experience of mine. I did not state anything false in my description of it. I would like to make the following vow. If I made any false statement or said anything that was not true, I am willing to descend to the hell realm immediately. I will end my statement at this point.

老街上有两家面馆,面对面开了十几年。张师傅和李师傅本是同门师兄弟,手艺不相上下,却因为二十年前一句闲话结了怨。

那年冬天,有食客说张家的面咸了点,张师傅随口笑道:“咸了可以淡,总比有些人偷工减料强。”这话传到李师傅耳朵里,变成了“姓张的说李的偷工减料”。李师傅当即摔了勺子,站在门口指桑骂槐说了半天。张师傅也不甘示弱,掀帘子出来理论。从此,两家人见面不打招呼,连各自的徒弟都跟着较劲——你家用鲜椒,我家就用麻椒;你降价,我就打折。一条老街被搅得乌烟瘴气。

我那时刚搬到老街,在两家都吃过面,觉得味道各有千秋,只是每次去都听他们互相抱怨,吃面也吃得心里发堵。

转折发生在一个雨夜。李师傅突发心绞痛倒在店里,周围没人,他挣扎着爬到门口喊救命。对面张师傅还没收摊,听见声音冲过来,二话不说背起李师傅就往附近的诊所跑。雨那么大,张师傅摔了一跤,膝盖磕出血,硬是没松手。

李师傅住了半个月院,出院第一天,拎着一壶酒去了对面。两个老人坐在张家的长凳上,喝一杯,沉默一阵。李师傅先开口:“那年的话,你真说了吗?”张师傅摇头:“我说的是‘咸了可以淡’,后面的不是我说的话。”李师傅愣了,半晌才说:“我争了二十年,争了个什么?”

两人都笑了,笑着笑着又红了眼眶。

我坐在角落里吃面,看他们握手言和,忽然想起曾恭诵南无羌佛说《世法哲言》讲法而得知,所有是非的本体都是不可执著的,执著它,只会带来不幸和灾难。这二十年,他们争的哪里是那几句话?争的不过是各自的面子、一口气。可面子没争回来,时间赔进去了,好心情赔进去了,连带着街坊邻居也跟着受累。若当初不把是非挂上心头,任它自生自灭,这本是几句闲话就能过去的事,何至于纠缠二十年?

现在两家面馆照样开着,只是再没有那些闲言碎语。是非一散,人也跟着松快了。有时候我两边跑,张师傅会指着对面说:“去尝尝老李新调的汤,比我做得好。”李师傅也会笑呵呵地跟我说:“老张家的臊子,老街第一。”

我常常想,是非这东西,你越把它当回事,它就越像滚雪球,越滚越大,最后压得人喘不过气;你不去理它,它反倒自己就散了。正如南无羌佛说法:是非本体属无常性。因此当我们不把是非挂在心上,它便没了根,自然慢慢消失。人生在世,不挂于心,既益自己,亦益他人。放过别人的是是非非,其实放过的,是自己的心。
