Unfounded Accusations Against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

In recent years, a few voices have unfairly labeled H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as a “cult leader.” These accusations lack any foundation and deliberately mislead. Such claims often stem from a misunderstanding—or deliberate distortion—of Buddhist principles, the teacher’s life, and the nature of the Buddhist community itself.

Rooted in Compassion, Wisdom, and Moral Integrity

First, the teachings of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III firmly embrace the universal values of compassion, wisdom, and moral integrity. His teachings empower people to think independently, examine matters critically, and cultivate virtue in daily life. These qualities stand in absolute contrast to the hallmarks of cult behavior—such as silencing questions, fostering blind obedience, and isolating members from the outside world. In reality, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III actively inspires his students to engage with their communities, serve those in need, and extend kindness to all beings—regardless of their faith, culture, or background. His exemplary dedication to humanity was internationally recognized when he was awarded the World Peace Prize Top-Honor Prize by the World Peace Prize Awarding Council, honoring his selfless devotion to a vast range of healing, humanitarian, and rescue-relief efforts that have helped people across cultural, political, and religious divides.

Charitable and Peace-Building Efforts

This same spirit of compassion drives the charitable and peace-building work of organizations established or inspired by his teachings. These groups have delivered disaster-relief aid to victims of natural calamities, organized large-scale prayer services for world peace, distributed food and essential supplies to impoverished families, offered free Buddhist education to the public, and hosted annual interfaith peace assemblies attended by diverse religious communities. They have also spearheaded environmental protection initiatives such as animal-release ceremonies, symbolizing respect for all forms of life.

Importantly, these activities never serve as tools for conversion or recruitment. Their sole purpose is to uplift peace, strengthen social harmony, and relieve suffering. Whether through cultural programs, humanitarian aid, or interfaith cooperation, the work inspired by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is transparent, inclusive, and devoted entirely to the welfare of others—qualities that are the polar opposite of the secrecy, control, and exploitation associated with genuine cults.

An Open and Transparent Community

Second, the community surrounding H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is characterized by openness and transparency. His temples and activities warmly welcome visitors and followers from all backgrounds, with absolutely no requirement to convert, pledge unquestioning loyalty, or sever ties with family and friends. This genuine inclusivity and freedom sharply contrast with the closed, manipulative, and controlling environments that define authentic cults.

Documented Accomplishments & Recognitions

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Award

Third, the accomplishments and recognitions of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III have been widely documented through public records, prestigious art exhibitions, charitable initiatives, and significant cultural contributions worldwide. These honors are not signs of someone seeking to exploit followers but rather reflect a lifetime devoted to service, cultural preservation, and the betterment of humanity. For example, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III received the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Award for International Service and Leadership. Since 1991, the International Salute to the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee annually honors exceptional individuals whose contributions reflect the civil rights leader’s impact globally. The 20th Anniversary Breakfast Celebration and awards ceremony took place on January 16, 2011, in Washington, D.C.

In addition, in 2011, the then-Mayor of Washington, D.C., Vincent Gray, officially proclaimed January 19th as “H.H. Moreover, His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III is the only individual in history to receive formal recognitions and corroborating endorsements from over 60 of the highest present-day dharma kings and regent dharma kings representing various Buddhist sects. This unprecedented acknowledgment underscores his unique standing and respect within the international Buddhist community.

Recognitions & Congratulations to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

These accolades, granted by secular and religious authorities alike, powerfully attest to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s enduring commitment to peace, compassion, and the upliftment of humanity worldwide.

The Harm of Baseless “Cult Leader” Labels

Finally, labeling someone a “cult leader” without evidence is not only irresponsible but also harmful. It spreads prejudice, undermines interfaith respect, and distracts from the real humanitarian and spiritual benefits that the teachings bring. Such accusations reveal more about the bias of the accuser than the reality of the accused.

A Genuine Leader of Compassion and Peace

In truth, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is a Buddhist leader whose work promotes compassion, peace, and the alleviation of suffering. To call such a figure a “cult leader” is to distort both language and reality, and to do a disservice to those genuinely seeking spiritual growth.

How Learning Teaching from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Transformed My Business, Family, and Life

How Learning Teaching from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Transformed My Business, Family, and Life

Life can change in ways we never expect, and for me, the turning point came when I encountered the true Buddha-Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. What began as a casual invitation to visit a nearby Buddhist center turned into a profound spiritual journey that transformed my health, my family life, and even my business. Through listening to the Dharma discourses of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, I experienced deep inner peace, greater compassion, and a clarity of mind that allowed me to make better decisions in both personal and professional matters.

My Journey to Meeting the Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

My Journey to Meeting the Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

Life’s fortunate doors often open unexpectedly — perhaps this is the blessing and empowerment of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. I will never forget the day that became a turning point in my life.

That morning, while exercising in my community, I met a Buddhist sister surnamed Meng. She told me there was a Buddhist center nearby and invited me to pay respect to the Buddha. I thought it was a great idea and went with her. The brothers and sisters at the center welcomed me warmly, with genuine care that felt like family — so different from the superficial interactions in society.

I decided to join their chanting ceremony and respectfully listen to the Dharma discourses of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. I felt that my affinity with the Buddha-Dharma had matured — this was where I was meant to be. When chanting the sutra, I often found myself moved to tears, repenting sincerely. Every time I listened to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s Dharma discourses, my heart was filled with positive energy.

Deepening My Practice Under H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s Teachings

In the past, I was always busy with work — rushing in and out of the Buddhist center without really settling my mind. But as I listened more deeply to the Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, my mental state kept improving. I learned to manage my time better so I could participate in group learning sessions. Life is important, but learning the Dharma is even more important — so I make sure to schedule it.

On National Day in 2016, instead of traveling with my family, I attended a Great Compassion Avalokiteshvara Blessing Dharma Assembly held by a virtuous Buddhist master. At that ceremony, I truly felt the greatness and authenticity of the Buddha-Dharma. The next day, I finally took refuge and stepped onto the Buddhist path.

After taking refuge, I became even more diligent in listening to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s Dharma discourses, receiving His teachings on cultivation. He teaches us to reflect inward daily, to repent, and to refrain from unwholesome actions. When I learned of the karmic consequences of killing, I vowed to stop taking life, adopted a vegetarian diet in the evenings, and observed full vegetarian practice on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month.

Health and Fearlessness Through the Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

After attending the Great Compassion Avalokiteshvara Blessing Dharma Assembly, I began doing 108 prostrations daily and have continued this practice ever since. My protruding belly disappeared, my physique became healthier, and my previously high blood pressure stabilized.

Before, I would feel anxious, fearful, and even tremble when flying or driving long distances. Now, I can travel by plane overseas with complete ease. My sleep also improved — now I recite the name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III before bed, and I sleep soundly until morning.

Business Success and Family Happiness Following H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s Dharma

Some people think that learning the Dharma takes too much time and will harm one’s business. In my case, my business actually improved after learning from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Long-term orders started coming in on their own, and recently the city government unexpectedly called to place an order with me — something I never imagined before.

I used to spend little time at home due to work and social engagements. Now, I cherish my family more and spend more time with my wife and son. My son often wants to be with me. My health is excellent, my family relationships are harmonious, and our home truly reflects the saying: “A virtuous wife, filial children, and a happy family.”

Establishing a Buddhist Mandala Altar in My Home

I have personally experienced the happiness the Buddha-Dharma has brought to my life. Therefore, I made a vow to offer support to the Buddhist center. With the help of Dharma brothers and sisters, I also established a Mandala Altar in my home. My family, inspired by my example, gradually began learning the Dharma as well.

Conclusion — Gratitude to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

Everything I’ve shared is my own true experience. I hope more people will have the karmic opportunity to learn the authentic Buddha-Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

We live to be happy — earning money is just part of life. Health and joy in this life are the process, but attaining liberation is the ultimate goal.

The Pope of Buddhism His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III

The Pope of Buddhism His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III

he Pope of Buddhism H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

The conferment of the Pope of Buddhism to His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III originated in January 2018 when the World Peace Prize Awarding Council and World Peace Prize Religious Leaders Title Awarding Council passed the resolution to confer to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III the title of Pope of Buddhism, the highest leader of Buddhism in this world. However, His Holiness the Buddha refused to accept the conferment.

For the sake of propagating Buddha Dharma and benefitting living beings, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters took the liberty to accept the conferment decree and the Pope of Buddhism Scepter. When the World Buddhism Association Headquarters respectfully presented the Pope of Buddhism Scepter and conferment decree to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, His Holiness the Buddha III said: “I see that on top of this Scepter is the seated Shakyamuni Buddha, we should be respectful to Namo Shakyamuni Buddha.” His Holiness the Buddha then raised the Scepter above His head and made a symbolic closed palm gesture with one hand to express His respects. However, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III also expressed that He is just a humble cultivator and resolutely would not accept such a conferment. Hence, His Holiness the Buddha immediately returned the conferment decree and the Pope of Buddhism Scepter to the two Councils.

On September 23, 2020, the World Peace Prize Awarding Council and World Peace Prize Religious Leaders Title Awarding Council passed an ultimate joint resolution, determining that the return of the Pope of Buddhism Scepter and conferment decree by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was not effectible. On September 24, the joint Chair of the World Peace Prize Awarding Council and World Peace Prize Religious Leaders Title Awarding Council Suzi Leggett made the ultimate announcement at the Holy Miracles Temple of the World Buddhism Association Headquarters: “Over the past several decades, the World Peace Prize Awarding Council has presented the World Peace Prize to presidents, spiritual leaders, and prime ministers of many nations, including President Ronald Reagan, Hon. Mahatma Gandhi, and H.E. Yitzhak Rabin. There has never been a precedence of an award being retracted or returned. All determinations made and implemented by our Councils are very solemn, serious, and absolutely cannot be changed. The return of the Pope of Buddhism Scepter and conferment decree by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is deemed not effectible. The title, status, and authority of the Pope of Buddhism belong only to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, and cannot be exercised by anyone else.” Chair Leggett once again requested that the World Buddhism Association Headquarters accept and present to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III the Pope of Buddhism Scepter and conferment decree that His Holiness the Buddha previously returned.

Representing the World Buddhism Association Headquarters, Venerable Mozhi Rinpoche accepted the conferment decree and Pope of Buddhism Scepter. He said during his speech, “The World Buddhism Association Headquarters considers that the decision made by the two Councils is remarkably proper and sagacious.

“Ever since Namo Shakyamuni Buddha entered parinirvāṇa, there has not been a supreme leader who has the authority to guide all Buddhists the same way that the Buddha did. However, the authoritative position of the Pope of Buddhism certainly is not a role that a leader of a single Buddhist sect would have the attributes to fulfill; rather, the Pope must be a leader who has authority over the entirety of Buddhism, namely, a Buddha.

Namo H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III holds the perfect teachings of Buddhism and meets the criteria used by all Buddhist sects to recognize a Buddha. His inherent nature is in accord with that of a Buddha. His unsurpassed, complete, and perfect enlightenment is in accord with that of a Buddha. Just based on the accomplishment of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in Lifting the Pestle onto the Platform, surpassing His own base weight standard by 59 levels, no one else can possibly reach such a record.

“The state of virtue of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is that of a Buddha. His Holiness the Buddha has perfect mastery of Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism, perfect accomplishments in the Five Vidyas, and so forth, all of which accord with the unsurpassed, complete, and perfect enlightenment of a Buddha.

“In more than 2,000 years, there has not been a Buddhist Holy Guru in this world who possesses the same Buddha level qualities. Just by the facts that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III vowed and carries out the vow to benefit living beings purely on a voluntary basis and does not accept any offerings throughout His entire life, and that He possesses perfect wisdom and unimpeded accomplishments, no other Holy Guru can be of comparison. Only Namo H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III can take on this immensely noble, holy, and heavy responsibility of the Pope of Buddhism, to properly guide Buddhists onto the correct path of learning Buddhism.

Therefore, on behalf of Buddhists, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters thanks the World Peace Prize Awarding Council and the World Peace Prize Religious Leaders Title Awarding Council for having made the ultimate decision.”

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is selfless and noble, and the first person in Buddhism to possess substantive holy realization power of a Buddha and perfectly flawless accomplishments at the pinnacle of the Five Vidyas. These are the qualities that no other eminent Buddhist monastic or virtuous person in this world has so perfectly attained. It is naturally a matter of course that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the veritable Pope of Buddhism.

Religious Leaders Hold Assembly to Honor the Birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

Religious Leaders Hold Assembly to Honor the Birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

Thousands of Buddhists from around the world attended the two-day Dharma Assembly -Joyce Lee

To honor the Holy Birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, revered as the Pope of Buddhism, several prominent Buddhist organizations including the World Buddhism Association Headquarters, Holy Miracles Temple, Hua Zang Si, Benevolence Temple, and the Sanger Mission, jointly organized a Grand Dharma Assembly in Glendale, California. The two-day event took place on June 30th and July 1st, 2023, at the Glendale Civic Auditorium and attracted over a thousand Buddhists from around the world.

June 30th marked the unveiling of the first three volumes of the “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection". The Dharma Assembly opened with a procession led by a group of nuns, chanting the Buddha’s name “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III”. The “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection" was gracefully displayed on a sacred sedan chair, carried by Holy Gurus Venerable Tsemang and Ruzun Bodi Wentu. In a display of reverence, all attendees of the Assembly humbly prostrated themselves, paying their respects to the Collection.

In the Dharma Assembly, Venerable Tsemang addressed the congregation, emphasizing the significance of the “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection": “We have undertaken the significant task of editing and publishing the first part of the ‘Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection.’ This endeavor not only expresses our profound gratitude and unwavering yearning for H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III but, more importantly, will enable countless sentient beings to attain accomplishment and liberation through studying the Collection. We firmly believe that the ‘Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection’ will serve as the ultimate guide for all Buddhist disciples seeking accomplishment and liberation.

“The Collection encompasses the essence of the Tripitaka and the esoteric Buddhist scriptures. It covers Buddhist precepts, views, cultivation, and Dharma practices. It covers the whole spectrum of Buddhism regardless of whether it is Hinayana, Mahayana, or Vajrayana. Through the Collection, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III reveals the most direct and expedient path for sentient beings, Arhats, and Bodhisattvas to advance themselves. If we diligently study and practice the teachings on even a single volume of the Collection, while focusing on any one dharma-gate, we can be assured of attaining liberation.”

During this Age of Dharma Degeneration, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III descended to the earthly realm, exhibiting perfect mastery of Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism, along with unparalleled expertise in the Five Vidyas. The Five Vidyas are what Buddhas and Bodhisattvas do to help living beings. Over the past 2,000 years, Buddhist teachings have encountered distortions and alterations due to mistranslation and misinterpretation of Buddha-dharma by Buddhist patriarchs, eminent monastics, and Buddhist scholars. Recognizing the distortions and errors that had infiltrated Buddhist teachings, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III corrected the mistakes present in the Buddhist teachings, restoring the authenticity, power, and purity of Buddha’s wisdom and views.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has bequeathed over two thousand audio recordings of imparted Dharmas and published invaluable Buddhist books, including “A Monk Expounds the Absolute Truth to a Layperson," “Commentary on the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra," “The Essence of Buddha Dharma," “Correcting the Treatises of Patriarch Bodhidharma," “What Is Cultivation?," “The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation," and “Learning From Buddha." H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III imparted the subtleties of Dharmas in colloquial language so that people living in the 21st century could easily comprehend. They serve as supreme treasures and indispensable resources for Buddhist disciples seeking to escape the sufferings of this world and attain enlightenment.

In response to the needs of Buddhist disciples, the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is working to transcribe audio recordings of Dharmas imparted by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III into extensive written texts, and the “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection" is being meticulously compiled. The first three volumes of the Collection, consisting of “Dharma Imparted During the Trip to the East," “Dharma Imparted During a Trip in Response to the Needs of Disciples," and “Imparting the Absolute Truth through the Heart Sutra," were released to commemorate this Holy Birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The remaining volumes will be released and published in the future.

The Dharma Assembly continued July 1st, 2023, with participants representing Buddhist disciples all over the world presenting 108 offerings to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.  Under the solemn direction of Jiaozun Zhengda, the congregation recited the Buddhist Sutra “Sutra on Understanding and Realizing Definitive Truth". The attendees offered heartfelt reverence to the Buddhas, engaged in prostrations, and prayed to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for blessings upon all sentient beings. The gathering collectively expressed their aspirations for the eradication of all global pandemics, the endurance of international peace and friendship, and the cessation of calamities, while invoking prosperity, good health, and longevity for all.

Venerable Pannavati, some of her students, and other attendees at the Dharma Assembly -Joycee Lee

Venerable Pannavati Karuna, the Abbot of Heartwood Refuge monastery in North Carolina, led dozens of her students to attend the Dharma Assembly. In an interview, she said: “I was introduced to Buddha Master (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) 18 years ago through Zhaxi Zhouma Rinpoche. I thought I had too many duties and responsibilities to follow His teachings. But I kept reading and pondering them through the years. I began to notice in my everyday life the truth and ability to live differently in the world. I had more integrity, clarity, joy for the first time and an understanding that enlightenment was possible if one follows the true teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. Buddha Master imparted Dharmas and explained those teachings in a down to earth, understandable way without compromise. He even spoke African American slang. Sometimes translators had a difficult time translating it into English because they may not fully understand the slang. But I heard it and I understood what He meant. That is the marvelousness of a true Buddha in this world. He can speak the language in a way that you hear it, understand it, penetrate it, and realize it. He guided me towards the correct aspiration. The goal is not Buddhist studies, and realization cannot be explained by mere words, but it can be experienced. The true purpose of the Buddha Dharma is to awaken us to our Buddha-nature. His teachings point the way.”

Gongjue Tuji Rinpoche from Germany also shared his joyfulness after attending the Dharma Assembly. He said: “I am very happy to be here today on this very auspicious occasion. Because for us Westerners, it is very hard to get the teachings and Dharma from Buddha Master since most of us do not speak Chinese. I am very happy about this event today that we are finally getting the opportunity to get the Buddha Dharma in English language, and we will have direct access to it.”

The Dharma Assembly held in Glendale fostered unity and devotion among Buddhist practitioners from diverse backgrounds. With the release of the first volumes of “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III Complete Sutra Collection", the event left an indelible mark on the spiritual aspirations of attendees, inspiring them to pursue enlightenment and emulate the compassion and wisdom demonstrated by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

The Drunkard Who Met H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

The Drunkard Who Met

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

The Drunkard Who Met H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

My husband is an artist, and he was also a widely known “drunkard” in our town.

He studied at a well-known art academy in China. After graduation, he returned to our county to engage in artistic creation. He is naturally candid and uninhibited, neither slick nor adept at social maneuvering. Arrogant in his talents, he felt stifled and unfulfilled, unable to realize his ambitions. At some unknown point, he began turning to alcohol. But being unable to handle it well, he would become drunk every time he drank, and once drunk, he grew even more unruly and wild.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the culture of feasting and drinking was widespread. Cultural officials often visited rural towns, and drinking at banquets was inevitable. On one such occasion, a local business held a grand opening and invited officials from the city’s cultural department to lend prestige. However, when someone at the banquet spoke rudely while encouraging him to drink, he was so enraged that he smashed the dishes and overturned the table, causing the banquet to end in chaos. After returning home drunk, he would often disturb the peace, especially in moments of excitement—he would roughhouse with our young child, who would end up crying in fright.

The most serious incident happened one time when he was drinking with his elder brother back in his hometown. For some unknown reason, an argument broke out at the table. Fueled by alcohol, he smashed an unopened bottle of liquor on his own head. Glass shards flew, and blood gushed out…

I lived in a state of constant avoidance, as he hovered between partial sobriety and drunkenness. My parents were both angry and heartbroken, deeply disappointed and worried about him. Life during that time was unbearable, and our marriage was on the brink of divorce.

My husband was fully aware of the absurdity of his behavior. The emptiness and anxiety he felt after sobering up made him even more depressed, like a man drowning in a sea of suffering with no shore in sight.

At a gathering, a literary friend recommended a book to him titled “Learning From Buddha” Always a lover of books, he found the text to be simple and easy to understand. It struck a chord with him—especially when he saw the miraculous youthful appearance of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, he felt a deep, indescribable emotional stirring. A Bodhi seed was planted in his heart.

At another banquet, once again heavily drunk, he unleashed his fury. He scolded his superiors and coworkers without restraint, trashed the restaurant, and stormed off. On the way home, he threw his bicycle into the street. His colleagues helped him to our front door, but he couldn’t find his keys. After knocking a few times without response, he punched through the wooden panel above the door, reached in, and unlocked it from the inside. Our child and I were already asleep. He stumbled into the bedroom and collapsed on the bed fully clothed.

Around midnight, he woke up from his stupor to complete darkness. Disoriented, he struggled to recall where he was. As the pieces came together, cold sweat broke out all over his body—he had wrecked the restaurant, lost his bicycle, publicly insulted his director and department head… When he thought about all the disgraceful things he had done in the past, he wished the night would never end. If only he could hide forever in this blackness. But time moved relentlessly toward the next day and reality. He couldn’t imagine how to face life anymore and even contemplated suicide.

It was in that moment of utter despair that the image of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III suddenly appeared in his mind. That single thought became the turning point in his life. In that painful, hopeless night, he brought his palms together for the first time with true sincerity and chanted “Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III” with the devotion of a son crying out to his loving mother.

Perhaps due to the sincerity of his heart, as he continued to chant, the pain and torment within him dissipated. A cool clarity washed over his chest. As he went on, he felt his body dissolve, and before him appeared a vast, blue expanse… That miraculous night gave him true confidence in the Buddha-dharma.

And so, he entered the path of learning Buddhism. The incredible and supreme holy manifestations often moved him to tears. The book “What Is Cultivation” corrected his misunderstandings and biases. From then on, he firmly resolved to follow H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for the rest of his life.

When the conditions ripened, he traveled to the United States and personally met H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III , receiving the Buddha Master’s personally transmitted supreme Dharma of meditative practice. After meeting the Buddha, his positive qualities such as eagerness to learn re-emerged. His previously volatile temper began to mellow, and his drunken episodes greatly reduced. As his bad habits faded, the family atmosphere slowly improved. Witnessing his day-by-day transformation, and through the passing of my father, I too began to reflect on the questions of life and death—and so, I also began to study Buddhism.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III often teaches in His Dharma discourses that true repentance is to never repeat the wrongdoing, and that we should start with small acts, beginning with those closest to us, then expanding outward to benefit others. My husband deeply realized how terrifying his past behavior was and how much suffering he had caused. He made a vow before the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to never drink again, repenting thoroughly for his past karmic offenses.

He quit drinking. He quit smoking. This once arrogant, unruly, self-centered man who lived for alcohol had finally turned his life around. Following the teachings and precepts of the Buddha Master with grounded sincerity, his progress was swift. He became mature and upright. In the eyes of his elders, he was now a respectful and obedient son. To our child, he was a mentor and role model. In my eyes, he became a gentle, hardworking, emotionally aware husband and Dharma companion. To colleagues and friends, he was a self-disciplined, warm, and dedicated elder. To fellow Buddhists, he was a diligent practitioner of the true Dharma of the Tathagata.

This return of happiness fills me with a sense of awe and deep gratitude. It is truly the Buddha-dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III that transformed a mad “drunkard” into a man of value to society, a true practitioner with right view and right understanding.

Statement From the World Peace Prize Awarding Council

WASHINGTON, June 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The World Peace Prize Awarding Council held a grand award ceremony on June 14, 2011 in the Gold Room at the U.S. Capitol to express our respect for the recipients of the 2010 World Peace Prize: H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, prominent leader of Buddhism in the world; Hon. Benjamin A. H.H.-Dorje-Chang-Buddha-III-recipient-of-the-2010-World-Peace-Prize-Top-Honor-Prize-

In view of some recent comments that the World Peace Prize Awarding Council has received from individuals and groups, expressing their misconceptions and misunderstanding. Our Council hereby issues this statement.

The co-founder of the World Peace Prize Awarding Council, Dr. Han Min Su, is a Christian leader from South Korea. The foundation of his entire life has been to preach Christianity and morality. He has spared no efforts in advancing world peace and furthering friendship and love among humankind. Wherever he goes, he is well respected within the international community as a minster of high moral character, a kind-hearted leader promoting inter-religious collaboration and world peace.

The Chief Judge of the World Peace Prize Awarding Council, Hon. Lester Wolff, is an experienced and distinguished statesman who has worked hard his entire life for world peace. His contributions to peace and development in Asian countries are especially remarkable. He is the author of the United States Congress “Taiwan Relations Act.” In 1978, he met with Deng Xiao-Ping, the Father of Modern China, and laid down the principles and foundation for diplomatic relations between the United States and China. At the same time, he successfully assured peace and development for both sides of the Taiwan Straits. He also introduced amendments to the White House sponsored Foreign Assistance Act of 1979 to restore the initiative for direct peace talks between Israel and the Arab States.

Dr. Suzi P. Leggett has been involved with politics and has worked in Congress over a long period of time. She has been the Chief of Staff of a former Speaker of the House. Her husband, the late Hon. Robert Leggett, was the co-founder of the World Peace Corps Mission, a legislator of great fairness, impartiality, and integrity. While in Congress, he served on the House Armed Services Committee and Budget Committee, and was Chairman of the Panama Canal Zone House Merchant Marine and Fishery Committee and co-chairman of the National Security Task Force.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, recipient of the 2010 World Peace Prize Top Honor Prize recipient, was recognized by more than 50 eminent dharma kings, regent dharma kings, and great rinpoches from major Buddhist sects around the world: H.H. Dharma King Dumu Qujie, the Root Master of the 17th Karmapa; H.E. Goshir Gyaltsab, a regent dharma king and national master; H.E. Sharmapa, a regent dharma king; H.H. Dharma King Trulshik, H.H. Taklung Tsetrul, and H.E. Chogye Trichen, all three of whom are Masters of the Dalai Lama; H.H. Dharma King Dodrupchen Thupten Trinle Palzang, H.H. Dharma King Penor, H.H. Dharma King Achuk, H.H. Dharma King Jigme Dorje, amongst others. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the most widely recognized leader in the history of Buddhism.

In the past decade, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha has suffered greatly for withstanding long-term persecution for his religious activities. A member country of the Interpol has once requested the Interpol to issue a warrant for His arrest. The request was subsequently withdrawn voluntarily by this member country after some years. Upon thorough investigation, in October of 2008, the 72nd session of the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files withdrew the arrest warrant and the entire case against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Interpol also issued a document stating in definite terms that the arrest warrant against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has been cancelled and all of its member countries have been notified of the cancellation.

Although H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III long ago received official notification of the withdrawal of the arrest warrant and the removal of the entire case, He has never shown such documents to prove His innocence. Regardless of the slander He has endured, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III did not disclose such ironclad evidence. When the World Peace Prize Awarding Council found out, and asked H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III about this, He responded by saying that what He must do is bear all of the karmic offenses committed by living beings and give to living beings all of the good karma and merit that He has planted. He said that if He proved His innocence by showing those documents, then those who slandered Him would no longer be seen as innocent. Who, He asked, will bear their karmic offenses?

His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III is more than deserving of the Top Honor Prize as He exemplifies the nobility of selflessness; a model of morality for all to emulate. He also demonstrated how peace is often attained by determination, humility and the perseverance to advance its cause in the face of adversity.

Hon. Benjamin A. Gilman, also recipient of the World Peace Prize Top Honor Prize, is a distinguished statesman who served as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee for a long period of time. He is a life-long champion of human rights: fighting world hunger, narcotic abuse and trafficking. He has made many successful efforts to bring about “prisoner exchanges” which resulted in freedom of American citizens in East Germany, Mozambique, Cuba and several other countries. Congressman Gilman served 15 terms, a total of 30 years in the U.S. Congress. Prior to that, he served 6 years in the New York State Legislature as Assemblyman, and several years as Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Department of Law. While in Congress, he served as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and as Congressional delegate to the United Nations with title of Ambassador, and later the Ukrainian Famine Commission and Vice Chairman of the Committee on POW’s. Mr. Gilman has been a recipient of numerous honors including the President’s Certificate of Outstanding Achievement “for continued, demonstrated vision, initiative, and leadership in the effort to achieve a world without hunger” and has annually received the “Peace Through Strength” Award presented by the American Security Council.

The World Peace Prize Awarding Council operates according to the core spirit of advancing peace and justice and inter-religious collaborations. The Council is led by co-founder and executive judge Dr. Han Min Su with esteemed members including Chief Judge Hon. Lester Wolff, former Chairman of the United States Congress Asian Affairs Committee; Dr. Suzi P. Leggett, advisor to one of the former Speaker of the United States Congress; Hon Asher Naim, former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations; Hon. Bhupatry M. Oza, former Ambassador of India; Hon. Peter Lewis, former Speaker of the South Australian House of Assembly; Dr. Kong Shiu-Loon, former advisor to the UNESCO; General Gennady P. Turmov, retired General of Russia.

Preaching and promoting peace is an arduous and sometimes thankless task. Those in the vanguard continue to become targets of others who lurk in the darkness to attack the peacemaker and attempt to undermine their efforts. That is why we established the World Peace Prize, to encourage continuing efforts towards peace and to defend the Peacemaker against scurrilous diatribes that put into question the motivation of well meaning and dedicated individuals.

March 20, 2021

Originally reported by Jiang Qing in U.S. Headline News –  “Lifting the Pestle onto the Platform,” a test for verifying Buddhist practitioners’ realization power, has overturned a thousand-year-old belief that those who had left footprints in rocks were Holy Gurus. The fact is no one ever witnessed in person the foot impressions actually being made on the rocks by the feet of people who purported to be Holy Gurus. They could very well have been manually chiseled. Recently, however, an awe-inspiring event actually occurred and was witnessed: Kaichu Rinpoche, a Buddhist elder approaching 90 years of age, demonstrated the fact that by practicing authentic Buddha Dharma, one can attain a holy constitution with holy tendons and bones. He outperformed a Champion Strongman of Asia when “Lifting the Pestle onto the Platform.”

Kaichu Jiaozun lifted a Pestle at a weight 26 levels above his base weight standard.

Kaichu Jiaozun lifted a Pestle at a weight 26 levels above his base weight standard.

Lv Xiao is a professionally trained strongman who represented China in a Strongman competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2014. He competed against participants from seven countries and won the Asian Strongman Championship. In December 2019, he performed “Lifting the Pestle onto the Platform” in Shenyang. Being the strongest man in over 3 billion people in all of Asia, he was unable to lift the Vajra Pestle at the same weight that Elder Kaichu did. More importantly, their ages and body weights were starkly different, and their performances were totally disproportional in comparison.

Lv Xiao is 36 years old and weighed 350 pounds. Elder Kaichu is 89 years old and weighed 178 pounds. Lv Xiao is a strongman by profession and has undergone long-term training. Elder Kaichu, on the other hand, has never done any strength training. All he does on a daily basis is learn from Buddha to cultivate his own conduct. Just recently, the weight of the Pestle Elder Kaichu lifted was 26 levels above his base weight standard. No one nor any Buddhist of the same age and weight class in this world has ever been able to attain Elder Kaichu’s holy physical power. Jin Yanping and Tsui Lei Tat in Hong Kong made it publicly known through news media that they have set up an award of US$5 million for anyone who successfully matches the weight level that the Elder Kaichu achieves.

Many strongmen have attempted to perform the lift. Yet up to now, no one is able to match the 26 levels that Elder Kaichu has achieved in surpassing his own base weight standard. Elder Kaichu said, “The reason I am able to accomplish both Tummo and Vajra Dharma is that I have learned true Buddha Dharma transmitted by His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III. As a result, my physical body, bones, and tendons have transformed from ordinary to holy. I used to be very weak and sickly. I had stomach disease, diabetes, knee problems, gout, and was so weak that I couldn’t even lift 10 pounds. All my illnesses have now vanished.”

Wangzha Shangzun, also known as Nick Best, lifted a 2,791-pound human carousel in the State of Georgia.

Wangzha Shangzun, also known as Nick Best, lifted a 2,791-pound human carousel in the State of Georgia.

Nick Best, the world’s “Grandfather of Strongmen,” has set a strength record that nobody of the same age and weight class has ever been able to reach throughout human history.

He once lifted a human carousel of 2,791 pounds in the State of Georgia. Not one of the several “Strongest Men in History” present, who were younger in age and heavier in body weight than him, was able to lift the same. Nick Best is known as the “Grandfather of Strongmen.”

In his reply to an attorney’s question, he said, “I have cultivated and studied the real Buddha Dharma under Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III. The Buddha Dharma greatly altered the composition of my body, as well as my mind and spiritual state. My strength utterly changed. Namo Dorje Chang Buddha III is my Buddha Master to whom I owe the utmost gratitude. I am able to teach the physical training involved in becoming a strongman.

However, that alone will not enable you to reach my level. My strength also derives from the blessings of Buddha Dharma.” He also stated that Buddha Dharma cannot be transmitted lightly.

Based on the two examples above, it is clear that fake Buddha Dharma cannot enable anyone to attain a holy physical constitution or power. It is undebatable that only authentic Buddha Dharma can transform an ordinary body to a holy constitution. His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III possesses authentic Buddha Dharma. By learning Dharma from His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III, a Buddhist practitioner can attain realization power that allows them to surpass the physical makeup and power of a strongman. This ironclad fact that an ordinary body can be transformed to a holy constitution is irrefutable and scientifically incontrovertible. This is an unequivocal and objective fact. Whereas, practicing fake Buddha Dharma cannot enable one to transform their physical or mental state, but rather, their physical state and power will remain that of an ordinary person. Fake Buddha Dharma cannot enable a practitioner to generate beneficial effects. Without beneficial effects, naturally, there is no accomplishment to speak of.

This is a factual conclusion that can be deduced by rational thinking. In history, Shakyamuni Buddha manifested miraculous power in Rajgir when holding a stone lion, outperforming all powerful strongmen. When Guru Padmasambhava was challenging the Shenrab Miwoche lineage, he manifested the power of Vajra Zhaoji to perform “Lifting the Pestle onto the Platform” with a Vajra hook, thereby subjugating the Bon practitioners. If anyone claims that their Buddha Dharma is authentic and that they hold true Buddha Dharma, yet in reality, their physical constitution and strength are no different than that of an ordinary person, can they possibly be considered as having attained realization power? Could it be possible that one who derives realization power from practicing Buddha Dharma cannot even demonstrate a whit of extraordinary physical strength?
